QUILTERS QUEST - DECEMBER 3, 4, 5 - 2009
Quilters Quest 2009
During the first weekend of December 2009 quilters visit the eight locations to gather clues, see new products and add to their fabric stash.  With all their clues in hand they learn about an "empty-nester" who finds three generations of quilts and quilt blocks as she converts her children's attic playroom into her own quilter's retreat.  There are 36 clues/block patterns while the names of only 28 of the block patterns will correctly complete the story.

In the story Molly uses the orphan quilt blocks and family quilts to create a new family sampler for her sewing room.  We hope you will be inspired by these clues to create a sampler of your own.  There are 36 - 12" block patterns offered as clues on the quest.  The block patterns are suitable for newcomers to quilting as well as experienced quilters.  Some patterns are old favorites while others may be new to you!

A selection of 20 fat quarters ranging in value form light to dark will be sufficient to complete the blocks and a pieced border.  Additional fabrics will be required to complement your choice of settings for the sampler.  Your local quilt shop staff will be helpful in determining the amounts for the setting and backing.

Visit any of the eight locations to purchase your 2009 Quilters Quest Passport for $5!

Remember, every shop and museum will have daily door prizes!

And be sure to complete the story of Molly's Sampler Quilt and submit it at your last stop.  All correct stories will be entered into a drawing for a grand prize of gift certificates and museum memberships worth $200!
